Social Worker and Trauma Sensitive Yoga Instructor | In Grace Yoga Therapy Founder

In my core, I believe that sensitive and compassionate restorative health and yoga instruction coupled with therapeutic empowerment techniques and reflection can transform and heal matters of the body, mind, and spirit. In Grace Yoga Therapy LLC is a holistic and restorative health practice which offers therapeutic spaces for survivors of abuse, violence and trauma to explore emotions, body movement and move authentically while fostering an atmosphere of sisterhood and support. It is my role to assist survivors with bringing their bodies into awareness in an non-judgemental and non-restrictive environment. By challenging survivors to practice mindfulness and become aware of the sensations felt in their bodies, I assist by providing intimate settings and various techniques to offer relief from overwhelming emotions, thoughts or trauma experiences. This personal practice empowers survivors to live a lifestyle of self-preservation by honoring and checking in with oneself. All workshops provide survivors with tools to live a balanced life.

I am passionate about the process of healing through vulnerability, transparency and honesty and remains committed to showcasing womanhood through the lens of mental health, art, wellness and hope. I am also committed to encouraging women to exploring self-worth as they are on their road to self-acceptance and discovery.

I received a Bachelor's in Social Welfare and went on to receive a Master's in Social Work from Howard University. I am licensed as a Yoga Instructor and Social Work Practitioner and is clinically trained in assessment, evaluations, and interventions and treatment of populations with mental and behavioral disorders. My experience includes work with survivors of homelessness, generational trauma, systemic trauma, intimate partner violence, and adults struggling with substance abuse, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, and medical concerns. I also serve as a facilitator for empowerment and entrepreneurial programming for conferences and workshops.
