Doula Assistant

Birth & Postpartum Support

LOCATION: MARIETTA, GEORGIA


The Doula Assistant supports the Lead Doulas before, during, and after client care by ensuring families receive exceptional, compassionate, and organized support. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about birthwork, eager to learn, and desires hands-on experience within a traditional and holistic birth practice.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Doulas during birth and postpartum visits.

  • Prepare and clean up supplies for births, ceremonies, postpartum care, and client visits.

  • Support traditional postpartum healing practices and ceremonies as directed by the Lead Doula.

  • Assist with client communication and scheduling.

  • Help organize birth bags, supplies, and inventory.

  • Maintain accurate documentation after client visits.

  • Attend trainings, team meetings, and Birth Collective events.

  • Provide logistical support during retreats, workshops, and community events.

  • Uphold confidentiality and maintain a professional, compassionate presence with every client.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in birthwork, postpartum care, or maternal health.

  • One Year of Experience as a Doula and/or 3 Births

  • Experience in customer service, healthcare, social work, or caregiving is a plus but not required.

  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Reliable transportation.

  • Comfortable working in diverse communities.

  • Interest in herbal healing and traditional postpartum practices is encouraged (Reiki is not required).

Reporting Structure

  • Reports directly to the Lead Doula Team.

  • Lead Doula and Assistant Doula reports to Executive Director, Asha Edouard

  • Assists with client care but does not maintain an independent family caseload.
